This Privacy Policy explains how Simone Canciello, operating as CancLabs ("CancLabs," "we," "us," or "our"), acts as data controller and handles personal information when you use the Prep mobile application and related services (collectively, the "Services").

Prep is a culinary learning app that helps users turn supported public recipe links into guided recipes, follow cooking lessons, receive optional visual cooking feedback, and track progress.

This Policy applies to information handled through the Services. Third-party websites, social platforms, the App Store, and other services have their own privacy practices.

2. Key Points

• Prep does not require you to create an account or provide your name to use the current version of the App.
• Most recipe-library, lesson, preference, and progress information is stored locally on your device.
• Information must leave your device when you request an online feature, such as importing a public recipe link or checking a cooking step from a photo.
• We do not sell personal information.
• We do not use third-party advertising SDKs or track you across unrelated apps or websites for targeted advertising.
• AI-generated recipes, nutritional estimates, and visual feedback may be inaccurate and are not medical, dietary, or food-safety advice.

3. Information We Handle

The information we handle depends on the features you use.

Information you provide or choose to process

Public recipe links and source information. If you share a supported public social-media link with Prep, we process the URL and publicly available information associated with the post, which may include the creator name, caption, transcript or subtitles, thumbnail, and visible text needed to create a recipe. We do not ask for or receive your social-media login credentials, private messages, contacts, or private posts.

Cooking photos. If you choose the visual-check feature and grant camera permission, Prep captures the photo you take and sends the image, together with the relevant recipe-step context, for automated analysis. Camera access occurs only after your action. Prep does not use cooking photos for facial recognition, identity verification, or biometric profiling. Please do not include people, faces, documents, addresses, or other unnecessary personal information in a cooking photo.

Import and onboarding preferences. We may store choices such as cooking experience, goals, recipe habits, preferred source platform, dietary or recipe preferences, measurement system, broad age band, and onboarding rating.

Support communications. If you contact us, we process your email address, message, attachments, and any other information you choose to provide.
